HOW DOES IT WORK?

LEVEL 1

Level 1 teaches you the essential words and phrases you will need in order to get around with ease.  Learn basic vocabulary and everyday phrases in no time!  Topics include first words, food, colors, phrases, body parts, numbers, time, shopping, countries and more.  Practice with virtual flashcards, play games and use the record-and-playback feature to practice pronunciation. 

LEVEL 2

Learn more complex phrases, correct pronunciation and how to converse in your new language. Talk about sports and hobbies, family, friends and work situations! Other topics include the alphabet, greetings, restaurant, hotel, business, technology, computers, emergencies and travel. Quiz yourself, record your progress or print out the dictionary to practice each subject on the go.

Visiting America

Food in the Northeastern United States, or New England, is tied to the country’s colonial roots, while Southwestern cuisine is heavily influenced by the flavors of Mexico. Every town in America has a favorite restaurant. Ask locals for recommendations, but expect to get different answers from everyone!

English-speaking Countries

Approximately 2/3 of native English speakers live in the United States. American English differs from British English in many ways, including the spelling of words, speech, vocabulary and accent pronunciation. Although many other countries, such as India, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia among others, have large English-speaking populations, keep in mind that people in these countries do not typically speak American English.
